On a scenic plot in Holstebro lies Boulevardens Børnehus. On one side of the building, the institution receives both kindergarten and nursery children when they are dropped off, and on the other side it leads out to nature in the backyard, where the children can enjoy playing outdoors.
For the building, Pluskontoret Arkitekter has taken inspiration from nature and the changing seasons, which is reflected in the choice of materials for both the roof cladding and the facade cladding. Here, DS Nordic Klikfals in brick red is used, which brings to mind autumn and fallen leaves in beautiful shades. The steel profiles have been chosen in two different widths, which also helps to emphasize that nature is not always completely stringent in its appearance.
In Boulevardens Børnehus, Pluskontoret Arkitekter has worked with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, where material selection has been a particular focus. With the choice of facade and roof cladding in DS Nordic Klikfals, the environmental impact is minimal. The steel profiles are made of GreenCoat® steel from SSAB, which is the market’s most environmentally friendly pre-painted steel.
GreenCoat® steel is manufactured using a patented technology that combines steel and a surface treatment made from Swedish rapeseed oil. In addition, GreenCoat® steel has a long lifespan and requires minimal maintenance – a benefit for both the environment and those who use the building on a daily basis.
The combination of DS Nordic Klikfals 275 and DS Nordic Klikfals 475 gives a fresh and asymmetrical expression on both facades and roofs and makes Boulevardens Børnehus something very special. With DS Nordic Klikfals you can mix the widths of the steel profiles as you wish and give a building exactly the look that matches your vision.
The steel profiles are available in many different colors, and you also have the option of choosing design grooves for extra effect.
